LA TASA NATURAL DE CRECIMIENTO PARA LA ECONOMIA COSTARRICENSE ENERO DE 1984 - DICIEMBRE DE 1996

Este documento constituye un análisis estadístico de la serie del Indicador Mensual de Actividad Económica (IMAE), para el periodo 1984 :01 a 1996 :12, similar al presentado por Chumacero y Quiroz.
Dicho análisis, sugiere que al menos hasta mediados de 1995 existe una “tasa natural de crecimiento” para la economía costarricense, que corresponde a la tasa de crecimiento constante de la tendencia determinística encontrada en la serie. Esta tasa natural es de 4,5% al año. Aceptando la hipótesis de una mayor volatilidad del IMAE con respecto al PIB, la tasa natural de crecimiento del PIB equivale aproximadamente a 4,44% al año.
