Open access policy

The Tropical Journal of Environmental Sciences (Revista de Ciencias Ambientales) is an academic product published by the Universidad Nacional (Costa Rica), a public Homeland institution.

 

The Revista de Ciencias Ambientales offers open, free and immediate access to its content under the principle that making research available to society in an open and free manner encourages a greater exchange of local and global knowledge. Therefore, there is no cost for access to the articles by the readers (individual users or institutions), nor for the processing, review, sending and publication of the articles by the authors.

 

The published articles are distributed under a Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-Share Alike 4.0 International license (CC BY NC SA 4.0 International) based on a work at http://www.revistas.una.ac.cr/ambientales, which implies the possibility that readers (individual users or institutions) can download, store, copy and distribute the final approved and published version (post print) of the article for free, as long as it is done without commercial purposes and is Mention the source and authorship of the work.

 

It is not necessary to request permission from the editor or author, as long as the content is used in accordance with the CC BY NC SA 4.0 International license, as explained above.

 

We clarify that the Revista de Ciencias Ambientales does not pay any amount to the specialists who carry out the external reviews (peer reviewers) at the request of the Editorial Board. As the only incentives, the reviewers receive a certification at the end of the year as proof of their collaboration with the Revista de Ciencias Ambientales and their names are reflected on the journal's site.
