GEOGRAFIA, ECOLOGIA POLÍTICA E MUDANÇA TRANSFORMADORA NO SÉCULO 21

Resumo

Desde a mudança normativa na Geografia na década de 1970, a Ecologia Política tem sido um campo dinâmico que busca compreender as causas profundas dos desafios socioambientais e, ao mesmo tempo, propor soluções. Este artigo reflete sobre a potencial contribuição do campo geográfico da Ecologia Política para a mudança transformadora necessária para orientar a sociedade para a sustentabilidade no século XXI, à luz dos desafios prementes. Isso é conseguido primeiro identificando três eixos concretos e sobrepostos da contribuição da Ecologia Política para a mudança transformadora com base nas abordagens temáticas gerais desse campo e, em seguida, relacionando a Ecologia Política com as recentes estruturas analítico-conceituais sobre mudança transformadora. Finalmente, algumas áreas de melhoria na Ecologia Política são sugeridas para fortalecer ainda mais a contribuição para a mudança transformadora.
