Abstract

This article presents an example of the application of the History of the Mathematics as a methodological resource in the teaching-learning process of Mathematics. For this purpose, a research project was carried out in a public technical school within the Regional Direction Office of Liberia, Guanacaste, Costa Rica. During the research there were changes in the attitudes of the students towards the teaching-learning process of Mathematics, the use of History of Mathematics as an opportunity for the students to express the values that they consider meaningful, and the potential of the history of mathematics as a resource which integrates different disciplines.
