The Revista Geográfica de América Central, a biannual publication of the National University of Costa Rica, celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2024. Since its founding in 1974, the journal has established itself as one of the leading scientific publications in the field of Geography of Central America.

The journal publishes original articles, unpublished reports, and research advances on topics related to Geography, such as regional studies, urban-rural issues, land use planning, natural resources, watershed management, geographic information science, demographic analysis, topics related to epistemology, and the teaching of Geography.

The journal is aimed at students and professionals interested in the Geography of Central America. Its articles are peer-reviewed and published in Spanish, English, and Portuguese.

To celebrate its 50th anniversary, the Revista Geográfica de América Central will publish a special issue with articles by leading geographers from Central America and the Caribbean.
