Abstract

This article provides a valuable reflection on the importance of rescuing the collective memory through the search for participation strategies. This work evaluates the potential ways of rescuing history through the teaching of history itself. Moreover, the article recovers the diverse dissemination experiences carried out in Costa Rica by the National Contest for Rural Autobiographies, the Collection "Our History", and the University Community Work. As such, this work provides an opportune reflection on the social customs of the past, and the ways in which young people and Costa Ricans in general should become acquainted with them.
