Quince vacas fuero·n introducidas a un repasto de Brachiaria radicans napper, y diez como control a un repasto de Estrella africana (Cynodon plectostachiumJ. Los animales fueron examinados clínicamente y se les determinó metahemoglobina, urea y cr~atinina sanguínea. La orina de los mismos fue sometida a examen general. La sintomatología, los hallazgos anatomopatológicos y la química sanguínea indicaron que en la intoxicación por Brachiaria radicans napper, además de los nitratos-nitritos existen otros factores
etiopatogenéticos importantes.
