Abstract

Alfonso Chase Brenes was born in Cartago on October 19th, 1944. His primary school was in his hometown school, and he was in the Liceo del Sur in San José. He has done informal studies in Mexico and the United States. All his intellectual and literary education is self-taught. Professor in the Universidad Nacional (UNA), Costa Rica. Researcher of the School of Literature School and Language Sciences. He received the University professor title in 1989. He has won almost all the prizes that Costa Rica has awarded in various branches of literary events: Premio Magón, Aquileo Echeverría for short stories, poetry and novels, and others. He has plenty of literary work, it consists of three novels, six short stories and some fifteen poetry works.
